Rhode Island HD (Hoarding Disorder) Directory

The RI HD Task Force has compiled a HD Directory with information about services, resources, and supports helpful to those who are working to overcome HD or to assist anyone who is starting their journey to live clutter free. This HD Directory provides users with information at local, state, and national levels. While this directory is comprehensive, we recognize it is by no means complete. It represents a place to begin this journey that may otherwise be a daunting experience.

We approach HD from a person-centered perspective. It is understood that individuals struggling with HD may want help ranging from deep cleaning a home to legal guidance or simply to find an agency that provides mental health services or a case manager who can assist with coordinating services.

Please note that this is a list of available resources. The RI Hoarding Task Force and its members do not endorse any particular service, organization, or individual included in this directory. To update this list (edit, add, or delete services), please email the RI Hoarding Task Force at RIEMHAC@gmail.com .

Clinical mental health services for people who hoard – mental health professionals who are trained to provide treatment for HD (psychotherapy, medication management, evaluations).

Social and medical services addressing hoarding (not psychiatric treatment) – a social worker, nurse, occupational therapist, or other professionals trained to assist in sorting and discarding while providing other support services. E.g., A case manager who is trained to assist in sorting and discarding.
